The Aorere College Visual Arts Department has committed and enthusiastic teachers, who are passionate about fine arts. These teachers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the department. They are also dedicated to creating a warm and productive environment where the students feel confident to develop their creative ideas. This is evident in student enthusiasm and their results.
Students studying Visual Arts at Aorere are given the opportunity to explore their ideas through painting, printmaking, digital design, and photography in both the junior the senior courses.
Our visual art students learn how to use artist models as a way to generate and develop ideas, as well as think analytically and critically about what they are creating. They are then able to apply their knowledge in a practical way through experimentation and clarification of their art works. Success in Visual Arts can lead to a huge range of lucrative and fulfilling careers in Fine Arts, creative industries and beyond. With creative thinking being one of the top five key employment skills for the future, the creative arts are becoming an integral component of the curriculum and of high achieving students course selection, particularly for those intending on university study.
