The Community Health pathway is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in the Health Sciences such as nursing, midwifery, oral health, medical imagery and physiotherapy at tertiary level. The Health vocational pathway at Aorere College is a bridge to industry training, further study and employment. It provides contextualised learning programmes in Biology, English, Health and Mathematics for students. Students are able to see how what they are learning relates to what they will need to succeed in the workforce. In Level 2, this pathway includes one day a week at a tertiary institution where L2 Healthcare unit standards are offered. Entry is subject to approval from the HOD and students must be NZ citizens or permanent residents. They must also be over 16 years old in February 2018.
