course description
In this course students will develop a strong understanding of the tectonic forces that impact us in the form of earthquakes and volcanoes. This will be learned in the context of New Zealand, through the eyes of those that witnessed and responded to the devastating Christchurch Earthquake of 2011. We will also take a trip to see first hand some of Auckland's volcanoes to better understand how they were formed and shaped through time. In doing this course, students will develop a range of transferable skills including reading and interpreting maps, writing effectively, interpreting environments and more.
