L1 Music- L1MUS

pre-requisites

Completion of the full Year 10 Music programme or at the discretion of the HOD. This course is not suitable for beginners. Performance experience on an instrument (including voice) is necessary; students should have been learning an instrument for two years or can demonstrate equivalence.

course description

This course is for students who wish to develop their practical and academic music skills. Students will develop their aural, explore composition, solo and group performance, and will learn about fundamental music knowledge and compare music works. Students are encouraged to perform at Principal’s Assemblies to improve their stagecraft and confidence. All students are expected to be a part of the co-curricular music programme e.g. Choirs, Concert band, Jazz Ensemble or Big Band. All voice students must be in one of the choirs.
