course description
This course will enable students to develop their oral and written language skills in Te Reo. They will also continue to develop an understanding and appreciation of Tikanga Māori. Knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori assist and compliment a wide range of careers.
Content/Topics:
At this level, the internal assessments are focussed on kōrero (speaking), whakarongo (listening) and Waihanga Tuhinga (crafted writing).
The external examination will focus on tuhi (writing) and pānui (reading).
Please note: These achievement standards contribute to the literacy requirement for NCEA Level 1.

- Te Reo o tōna ao
- Take taiohi: Kapa Haka / Hākinakina
- He Hui Marae
- I te kura
- I te kainga
