course description
Students use hand and power tools in the engineering workshop. Finishing and assembly of project components, dismantle and reassemble an engine under supervision as well as remove and replace vehicle wheels and balance a wheel and tyre assembly off a vehicle. Students learn how to test an automotive battery for re-charge or replacement, also learn how to carry out an emergency start on a flat battery. They also rectify simple vehicle lighting faults, and adjust vehicle lamps, remove and replace a lamp on a motor vehicle. Students will complete an introductory course which is designed to give students a clear idea of what further study in this subject entails.
