course description
Students will get an introduction to working as a carpenter, builder or construction worker. They will learn how to use portable electric power tools use and safety, read plans, and free hand sketching. They will also learn basic frame construction and timber joints.
Students will gain an understanding of the introduction to plumbing, gasfitting and drainage in New Zealand, Health and Safety in the plumbing, gasfitting and drainage industry, pattern drawing, welding (braising, soldering), sheet metal work and an introduction to gas supply and installation.
