course description
The content of the course will focus on representations of race, gender and sexuality, particularly in relationship to power. The texts used will be more media oriented than 'literary' [e.g graphic novels, film, music videos, print journalism]. This course would be useful for those students intending to study social work, teaching and social science at University. The course will have a theoretical underpinning.
This course is an English course and will offer at least 14 English credits so will contribute a subject domain to UE. It will also offer UE literacy credits. You cannot take this course and L3 English. This course could be fully internally assessed and there will be possibilities for offering Social Science and/or Media standards to support the learning in the course.
