course description
In this UE approved subject, students learn to make sense of the media landscape that surrounds them and to become critical of media messages. Students develop desirable 21st century skills such as media literacy, creative collaboration, production knowledge & writing for media. We also reflect on the way technology impacts hauroa. Media students will be working more closely with Aorere Film Academy next year to help broadcast student voice on campus.
Students take control of the creative process by developing projects, such as short films, that help them make sense of their experiences. The subject prepares students for careers in diverse fields such as law, film making, post-production, journalism, advertising, broadcast television, and the internet content economy.
